This online training course is designed for hazmat employees, shippers, freight forwarders, and others involved in the handling, shipping, and/or transport of hazardous materials by vessel.

If your work involves shipping hazardous materials to, from, or within the United States by vessel, you must comply with 49 CFR Part 171, Subpart C, which mandates conformance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code when any portion of the movement involves vessel transport, provided all or part of the movement is by vessel must conform to the requirements in 49 CFR 171.22.

By completing this course, participants will gain the knowledge needed to navigate and apply IMDG regulations to packaged goods, including bulk packagings, for safe and compliant maritime transport. This training does not meet the minimum requirements for vessel crew members.
